The US Ambassador to Georgia Robin Dunnigan participated in the ribbon-cutting for local enterprise Nuts Processing in the village of Chumlaki in Kakheti.
USAID, the Government of Georgia’s Rural Development Agency, and Nuts Processing partnered to equip the modern factory, which is now able to process 600 tons of high quality nuts per season, benefitting up to 40 local small and medium sized local farmers.
The United States has invested USD 300,000 in walnut processing facilities in Kakheti that create jobs and source from local farmers.
