The European Parliament adopted a resolution on the killing of Tamaz Ginturi and abduction of Levan Dotiashvili by the Russian occupation forces in the occupied Tskhinvali region of Georgia. The resolution was supported by 495 votes.
MEPs “strongly condemned” both of the incidents, calling for a “thorough investigation into this and other murders.” They reiterated their support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders, “condemn the illegal occupation of the Georgian regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali/South Ossetia by the Russian Federation”.
The debate on the resolution was held in the European Parliament yesterday, where the European Parliamentarians demanded the punishment of those responsible for the killing of Tamaz Ginturi.
