The Government has made a decision to write off the debts of students whose status has been suspended.
In particular, on the Prime Minister’s decision, the debts of students with suspended status due to financial liability, were written off, allowing them to be reinstated and continue their university studies, if they wish to proceed.
“Our students’ education-and the higher education reform that the new Minister is currently working on very actively-is very important to all of us. I requested information, and the Minister of Education briefed me in detail about 30,000 or so students with suspended status due to financial liability.
These debts amount to about 40 million GEL”, - said the Prime Minister of Georgia.
Irakli Garibashvili instructed Ministers of Education and Finance to start communication and finalize this matter promptly.
