Approximately 200 firemen and rescuers of Emergency Situations Management Service under the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been mobilized in the disaster-affected area in Guria region.
Herewith, the representatives of the relevant MIA units are mobilized on the spot as well as equipment.
Head of Emergency Situations Management Service - Temur Mghebrishvili and other heads of the Agency are on their way to the disaster site.
At this stage, 11 citizens, including children and minors, have been rescued by rescuers and transported to a safe place.
Employees of Emergency Situations Management Service rescued a foreign citizen from the river Supsa, another citizen was rescued from the collapsed area in the village of Jumati, and 9 citizens as well from the village Supsa, including 7 children.
Within the frames of the search operation, 2 bodies have been detected so far, while the search for 2 people continues.
Due to security measures, Public Safety Command Center 112 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is sending warning text messages to citizens in the surrounding areas of Guria region.
