The Chairman of the Georgian Dream said today that if NATO membership was offered to Georgia in exchange for territory concession, the country’s answer would be categorical refusal.

Irakli Kobakhidze was responding to the statement of Stian Jensen, the Director of the Private Office of the NATO Secretary General, who said recently that “the solution for Ukraine might be to give up territory and get NATO membership in return”.

“Such an approach to NATO membership in return for territory concession is unacceptable.

I understand the position of the Ukrainian Government, which negatively assessed the statement of NATO’s representative.

Georgia is in the same situation as 20% of our territories are occupied”, - added the Chairman of the ruling party.
