“Rikoti is currently under a special regime. The basis for establishing the special regime was the potential landslide center found 200 meters from the road, on the 149th kilometer.

Based on the assessment of the mentioned situation, it was considered by the specialists as an increased danger, and accordingly, a decision was made to close it temporarily, in order to widen the road, increase the collector by three times, arrange a wall to make the mentioned section safe.

Besides, 24-hour monitoring was and is ongoing, which will allow us to prevent even potential risks in advance.

I repeat and once again confirm that no landslide has been reported on the 149th kilometer of Rikoti, no landslide has been activated, but a potential center was discovered.

Appropriate preventive measures have been taken and Rikoti is safe today”, - said Irakli Karseladze.
