One of the missing people in the Shovi disaster has been found alive outside the landslide-hit area. The Head of the Emergency Situations Management Service Head, confirmed this information to media.
“Zurab Bibileishvili got on the missing list after being registered through the hotline and 112 calls. The investigation established that he was safe and found outside the landslide-hit area.
I can’t provide details, but this individual was previously listed as missing. Due to the police’s efforts, we can remove his name from the list today”, - Temur Mghebrishvili.
In Oni municipality, the search and rescue event is going in round the clock regime for the sixth day. Police units, fire-rescuers of Emergency Situations Management Service, K-9 experts, border police helicopters, drones and special equipment are involved in the operation. Herewith, employees of the Ministry of Defense and the Department of Roads of the Ministry of Infrastructure are working in the disaster zone.
In total, 19 bodies have been found by the rescuers as a result of the search and rescue operation in the disaster area.
