We have not only a responsibility, but also an obligation to unite our country. Such a statement made today the Mayor of Tbilisi at the Mukhatgverdi Brothers’ Cemetery, where he paid tribute to the fighters who died in the August 2008 war.

“15 years have passed since the August war. A war that made us lose more territory. As a result of the war, we lost civilians, our hero soldiers, policemen. We, of course, should talk a lot about these heroes with our kids, future generations. The biggest challenge we face today is the territorial integrity of the country.

Accordingly, we have not only a responsibility, but also an obligation to unify our country, to return territories, and I believe, I am sure, that together we will be able to return each other and restore the territorial integrity of Georgia”, - said Kakha Kaladze.

He called speculative a question of why the date of the beginning of the August war was still disputed.

“These speculations of yours are absolutely incomprehensible. Take a look at the past! I don"t want to talk about this issue today, but you know that before 2013-2014, the then government used to honor our heroes on August 8 and let’s know stop these speculations”, - added the Mayor.
