The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned the Polish ambassador after statements by Marcin Przydacz, the Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda.
According to Oleh Nikolenko, the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was emphasised at the meeting with Ambassador Bartosz Cichocki that claims of alleged ingratitude by Ukrainians for Poland’s assistance “do not correspond to reality and are unacceptable”.
They stress that the Ukrainian-Polish friendship goes much deeper than political expediency, and politics should not cast doubt on the understanding and strength of the relationship between the two nations. They point out that no statements will hinder their joint efforts to achieve peace and build a shared European future.
Earlier, in an interview with Polish media, Marcin Przydacz mentioned that Ukraine had received significant support from Poland, and it was time for Ukraine to start appreciating the role Poland played for it in recent months and years.
The Polish official stated this based on blocking Ukrainian grain exports through Poland.
