It has been revealed that there are plans for Giorgi Margvelashvili to become a direct ally of the United National Movement. Such a statement made today the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament.

“I think the whole society has seen the benefits of the “Russian law”, which operates in the US. This law gave us the opportunity to understand, in general, what kind of organized and orchestrated campaign was being conducted against Georgia. If not the “Russian law” that is in effect in US, we wouldn’t know this, because the EU has not yet adopted such a “Russian law”, we don’t have a “Russian law” in Georgia either, otherwise, if we had it, we would have known not only how much money was spent on the distribution of this so-called petition, we would have also found out who took money to develop and sign it.

Precisely because the “Russian law” exists in America, we discovered that it turns out that the resolutions adopted by the EU Parliament were not drafted by our “friendly” MEPs but by lobbyists in the US. The situation is the same with the petition. There is a big suspicion that the text of the petition was not written by Giorgi Margvelashvili, most probably it was the text written by lobbyists, who also searched for the signatories and, in the end, they used him as a figure who would sign the petition. They used him for this. It is interesting if Giorgi Margvelashvili himself confirms whether he had direct or indirect contact and communication with lobbyists, and secondly, whether he wrote the petition that is called his petition”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
