The Georgian General Prosecutor’s Office has apprehended Sergo Shubitidze, the former investigator involved in Tamar Bachaliashvili’s [23-year-old Georgian programmer] case.
According to the agency, the detainee will face charges under the 1st part of Article 370 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
This pertains to impeding justice through false testimony as a witness.
“It will follow the necessary legal procedures and submit an application to the Tbilisi City Court to secure imprisonment as a preventive measure”, - adds the General Prosecutor’s Office.
