Chairman of the Georgian National Competition Agency met with representatives of donors and international organizations

Chairman of the Georgian National Competition Agency, Irakli Lekvinadze, met with representatives of donors and international organizations. Within the framework of the event, the parties discussed the possibilities of strengthening mutual cooperation, the initiatives prepared by the Agency, the results implemented and achieved by the Agency in order to improve the competition policy.

“International support for the Georgian Competition Agency, active cooperation with donor organizations, bringing the Agency’s activities closer to European standards based on the sharing of world-proven practices, implementation of joint projects, initiatives and raising public awareness of competition policy and culture at the local level are one of the main priorities of our action plan.

“Strengthening of competition enforcement policy, implementation of anti-dumping and initiation of enforcement of consumer rights are the innovations that our Agency is actively working on today. The process of the reforms continues, where the support and involvement of international organizations are of the utmost importance”, - said Irakli Lekvinadze.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Alexander Khvtisiashvili, addressed the participants at the event. The meeting was held in the discussion, and question-and-answer format, where presentations were made by Eka Leonidze, Deputy Chief of Party, USAID/HICD, the Resident Twinning Adviser to Twinning Project Justina Paulauskaitė, and Lile Meskhi, Donors Relations and Projects Manager of the National Competition Agency.
