Rustavi City Hall has created another new platform for the involvement of young people in the management of the city – “Generation for the Future”. Within the framework of the project, the first meeting of the city mayor Nino Latsabidze and the “Generation for the Future” group was held.
At the meeting, the mayor of Rustavi gave a presentation to the youth about the ongoing and implemented reforms in the city, as well as projects.
Nino Latsabidze spoke in detail about the new form of communication with young people within the framework of the “Generation for the Future” project and in the city management process in the format of dialogue, expressing his desire to actively cooperate with them.
The formation of a new platform for the participation of young people in the management of the city started with the “Generation for the Future” campaign, within the framework of which Nino Latsabidze met senior students of all private and public schools in Rustavi and introduced them to the ongoing projects in the city and the new development plan of Rustavi.
At the end of the campaign, “school ambassador” elections were held in Rustavi schools. “School ambassadors” and students selected through online registration became members of the youth group “Generation for the Future” and their own vision of the city’s development, they will be delivered to the mayor of Rustavi in the form of projects or consultations. None of the members of the “Generation for the Future” group are employees of the municipality, and the main principle of its work is the involvement of young people in the management of the city and the implementation of real self-government.
