The Trust Group heard the Chief of the Georgian Defense Forces, Major General Giorgi Matiashvili reporting on the progress of the fulfillment of the 10-year plan for the development of the defense forces, the ongoing and scheduled activities within the plan and enhancement of the national defense capacity.
“We got cognizant of the situation in the defense sphere, the combat readiness of the defense forces and interoperability with NATO. We overviewed the details of anti-armor, anti-aircraft, artillery and other directions, as well as the cyber defense capacity, necessary armament and equipment, military exercises and modernization of infrastructure, as well as the international cooperation and all the activities aiming at the enhancement of the combat capacity and quality of its lethality. These activities are estimated as successful and recognized by our supervisors, as well as NATO and its member states”, - the Chair of the Group, Irakli Beraia noted.
The sitting was as well attended by the Deputy Defense Minister, Grigol Giorgadze, and the Chief of the Operative Planning Department of the Defense Forces, Brigadier General Grigol Chelidze.
