If the European Commission doesn;t remove the issue of de-oligarchization, we will implement the law from March 1, 2024. Such a statement made today Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Chairman of the parliamentary faction Georgian Dream.

“According to the conclusion of the Venice Commission, all 6 recommendations were shared, approved, as their recommendations were reflected in the law. All the key issues are taken into account.

The only hint, we can call it that way, was regarding the issue of personalization, and in its essence this topic which is part of the European recommendations implies personalization, so that we don’t start reasoning and additional insinuations do not follow this inconsistency of the positions of the European Commission and the Venice Commission.

In order not to look for some conspiracy theories, we will act like this: the law on de-oligarchization will come into force from March 1 of 2024. If the European Commission removes this issue by the end of 2023, we will have the opportunity at the very first meeting at the beginning of 2024 not to implement this law at all, otherwise, we will adopt the de-oligization law, taking into account the recommendations, and we will implement it from March 1 of 2024”, - explained Mamuka Mdinaradze.
