Authority of the Regulation Agency is increasing - changes to be introduced in the Law of Georgia on Health Care.

“The main goal of the legislative package is protection of patients’ best interests amid medical environment, patient’s safety and improved possibility for implementing quality medical services”, - stated Tamar Gabunia in connection with the changes to be introduced in the Law of Georgia on Health Care.

According to the Deputy Minister, elaboration of the legislative package is aimed at equipping the relevant control body with effective management tools.

“According to the draft law, Regulation Agency is provided with opportunity to respond more quickly.

Similar precedent is in place with Labour Inspection and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.

In addition, a number of other entities are equipped with capacities for prompt response and we believe that it is very important, since this concerns safety and life of patients”, - added Tamar Gabunia.
