Georgia is preparing to celebrate Independence Day with a wide range of cultural, educational and entertainment activities in both Tbilisi and regions.

Among the principal occasions marking the date will be the annual ceremony involving new recruits of the Georgian Defence Forces taking oath on the capital city’s Freedom Square.

The ceremony involving the new troops will start at 11:00, with an exhibition of military hardware following the occasion.

The event will be attended by the Prime Minister, President, representatives of the Government, Parliament and diplomatic corps.
