Court left 7 persons arrested on charges of supporting Islamic State in pre-trial detention

Pre-trial detention has been ordered for the 7 persons arrested on charges of supporting the terrorist organization Islamic State in Tbilisi City Court.

The state indictment called for the use of the most severe measure of detention against all persons.

As for the lawyers, they asked to leave the defendants without the measure of restraint and offered GEL 5 000-10 000 bail as an alternative.

The detainees face prison term from 8 to 11 years if convicted.
