On May 17, the family purity day, a public prayer will be held in Kashveti Cathedral, after which a solemn procession-litany will be organized. Such a statement was released by the Patriarchate of Georgia.

“Dear children of our church, may the God of peace and love be with you! In 2014, with the blessing of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, May 17 was declared as the family purity and respect for parents day.

In connection with this day, on Wednesday, May 17, regent Metropolitan Shio (Mujiri) of Senaki and Chkhorotsku will perform the public prayer at the Kashveti Cathedral at 12:00.

After the prayer, there will be a solemn procession-litany to the Holy Trinity Cathedral, where a thanksgiving public prayer will also be performed.
