Slope reinforcement works continue on Tskneti Highway

Works on strengthening the existing slope along the road continue in the Vake district, on the Tskneti Highway. 836 anchors have already been installed in the area to stabilize the slope.

The works will be completed in the coming days and the construction of the retaining wall will begin. The Mayor of Tbilisi, together with Deputy Mayor Irakli Bendeliani, got acquainted with the ongoing project.

“A certain section of the slope on the Tskneti Highway was shifted, which posed a danger to movement. Accordingly, we have started to reinforce it. The first stage of work has already been completed. This was terracing, removal of excess soil mass and cleaning the slope.

The arrangement of anchors is underway. Here I would like to inform the population that very soon we will have to restrict traffic to one lane to carry out the final stage of work. The blocks located on the side of the road will be removed and a concrete wall will be installed. We think that the project will be completely completed by the end of May”, - said Kakha Kaladze.

According to the project, approximately 950 anchors, a steel mesh and a reinforced concrete retaining wall will be installed on the Tskneti Highway, for which 8.5 million GEL will be spent from the capital’s budget.

The slope reinforcement works are being carried out by the Tbilisi City Hall’s Infrastructure Development City Service.
