Prime Minister attends paraklesis marking the restoration of the Georgian Church Autocephaly

Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia along with President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, attended a paraklesis at Sioni Cathedral dedicated to the anniversary of the restoration of the autocephaly of the Georgian Orthodox Church.

The service was led by the Locum Tenens of the Patriarchal Throne, Metropolitan Shio of Senaki and Chkhorotsku, together with members of the clergy.

Following the prayer, Metropolitan Shio addressed the congregation with a sermon, emphasizing the importance of the independence of both the Church and the state. He also extended his congratulations to the public on the occasion of the Georgian Orthodox Church’s Autocephaly Restoration Day.
