Deputy Commander of the NATO Joint Force Training Center paid a working visit to Georgia

Brigadier General Petr Svoboda, Deputy Commander of NATO’s Joint Force Training Center [JFTC], and Colonel Ladislav Svezda from the JFTC Training and Exercises Department paid a working visit to Georgia.

The NATO delegation was hosted at the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center [JTEC] in Krtsanisi.

Colonel David Gagua, JTEC Commander, provided an overview of the centre’s history, objectives, completed projects, and plans for the future during an information briefing.

The meeting emphasized the long-standing cooperation between JTEC and JFTC, as well as JFTC’s support in JTEC’s development. A key topic of discussion was the NATO-Georgia 2025 exercise, set to take place in Georgia this year.

General Svoboda received updates on the planning and final preparations for the exercise.

During their 3-day visit, JFTC representatives met with Major General Zaza Chkhaidze, Deputy Commander of Georgian Defence Forces, and other defence officials. They also visited the Combat Training Center, a component of JTEC.

JTEC has been collaborating with JFTC since 2017 under a mentoring program, and in 2020, the 2 centres formalized their partnership with a cooperation agreement.
