
The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs - Vakhtang Gomelauri held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkiye to Georgia - Ali Kaan Orbay.
Within the framework of the meeting, the Ambassador introduced newly appointed counsellors of the Embassy of Turkiye for interior affairs - Hakan Becel and Necmettin Tetik to the Minister. Vakhtang Gomelauri congratulated the newly appointed counsellors on their appointment and wished them success in their future activities.
He thanked the Ambassador for intensive and fruitful cooperation with the law enforcement agencies of Turkiye and continuous support of the Turkish side in the process of capacity building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
The involvement of the Republic of Turkiye in the implementation process of the NATO-Georgia Essential Package Maritime Security Initiative was also emphasized at the meeting. Vakhtang Gomelauri expressed gratitude for the initiative of the Turkish side to host Georgian contingent on Turkish Navy ship participating in NATO`s Maritime Security Operation “Sea Guardian".
At the end of the meeting, the parties noted that the trend of planned meetings and working visits between the agencies will be actively continued, which will facilitate the sharing of experience and best practices between the parties in various directions.
