The Ministry of Internal Affairs launched an investigation into the attack on Giorgi Gakharia, leader of the Gakharia for Georgia party.
According to the agency, the investigation has commenced under Article 126 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to violence.
Gakharia was assaulted in Batumi.
