The Government of Georgia will give GEL 1 million to the Olympic champions, GEL 500 000 to the silver medalists, and GEL 250 000 to the bronze winners. The Prime Minister of Georgia announced this at the ceremony, where Georgian athletes were seen off to the Paris Olympic Games.

“Traditionally, a prize is established before the Olympic Games. In this case, GEL 1 000 000 will be allocated by the Government of Georgia for the Olympic champions, GEL 500 000 for the silver medal and GEL 250 000 for the bronze prize winners.

I’m sure you don’t need additional motivation to fight for the championship until the end, but this is an additional factor that will probably increase your motivation.

I would like to promise you on behalf of the Government of Georgia that we will continue to support Georgian sports, Georgian Olympians, and the Olympic team, and this support will increase year by year.
