P.G. Senior Inspector of the Special Penitentiary Service was arrested by the Special Investigation Service on the fact of violence, threat and coercion.

The investigation established that in October, 2023, in Zestafoni, P.G, who was in a drunken state, approached his wife at work, put her in a car and physically assaulted her on the grounds of jealousy. After that, he threatened to burn victim"s car and take her life. On the same day, while returning home, PG, against his wife"s will, as if to calm her down, using physical force, allegedly made her take some pills. The investigation also established that the accused abused his wife in the presence of a minor as well.

After receiving the report of the victim woman, the Special Investigation Service promptly initiated the investigation and in cooperation with the Prosecutor"s Office, evidences incriminating the law enforcement officer in committing the crime were obtained, after which on the basis of the court ruling he was arrested.

Charges shall be brought against the law enforcement officer within 48 hours. The crime envisages imprisonment up to 3 years.
