Levan Davitashvili says cooperation with Armenia now at level of strategic partnership

Georgian Economy Minister highlighted the “close” economic and political ties with Armenia, saying the cooperation had moved to the level of strategic partnership. As Levan Davitashvili said, selection of Armenia as the destination of one of the first foreign visits of Prime Minister was “symbolic”.

“Georgia and Armenia have close economic and political ties. It is especially noteworthy that our cooperation and relationship has moved to the level of strategic partnership. Accordingly, even more importance is given to the relations between the countries in different directions.

In terms of economy, Armenia is one of the main trade partners of Georgia. It is the 4th largest trading partner. It is hoped that trade turnover will increase this year as well. It was characterized by positive dynamics. Georgia is also very important in terms of transit for Armenian cargo and is also very important as a tourist market. Armenia is one of the most important tourist markets for Georgia. Georgia is a popular destination among Armenian visitors, and these ties, of course, will continue even further, the dynamics between our countries will increase even more, taking into account the economic cooperation in various directions”, - added the Minister.
