Collective UNM, through the mouth of Nino Lomjaria, made a historic admission that no one from the radical opposition, apart from the UNM, can overcome the electoral barrier - Mdinaradze

The collective United National Movement, through the mouth of Nino Lomjaria, made a historic admission that no one from the radical opposition, apart from the UNM, can overcome the electoral barrier. Such a statement made today Mamuka Mdinaradze, leader of the parliamentary majority, while commenting the words of Lomjaria about the unification of political parties, according to which “if the opposition parties close to the 5% threshold decide to run separately in the elections, there is a high risk that they will be left out of the Parliament and the sum of their opposition votes, which can reach 20%, will be distributed among the parties that cross the threshold”.

According to Mamuka Mdinaradze, “in this case, many votes can be distributed proportionally, including for Georgian Dream which will definitely come in first place”.

“By this they admit that all the other parties are so unrated that none of them approaches the five percent threshold.

As they [the opposition] admit that there will be too many undistributed votes or mandates, that is, they admit that all the other parties are so unrated that none of them approaches the five percent threshold. In this case, it is correct to assume that there will be many undistributed mandates, only in this I agree with Nino Lomjaria”, - added Mamuka Mdinaradze.
