The prosecutor’s office’s evidence was accepted in full by the Telavi district court, which rendered a verdict of guilty for the accused’s intentional killing in a group under aggravating circumstances.

The evidence presented during the trial demonstrated that on January 18, 2023, in the accused’s residential home in the village of Veliskikhe, Gurjaani district, two individuals, motivated by retaliation for a previous conflict, intentionally injured the victim in a group with blunt objects with the goal of killing, and subsequently killed him. His wounds caused him to pass away immediately.

Following this, the murderers buried the victims in a well next to Veliskikhe’s irrigation canal. Additionally, the dead person’s cell phone was taken by the perpetrators. May 25, 2023, saw the discovery of the body in the well as a result of the case’s investigative efforts.

One person who committed the crime was charged with the facts of intentional murder and theft committed in a group under aggravating circumstances. The Telavi District Court found him fully guilty of the presented charge and sentenced him to 17 years of imprisonment.

As for the second defendant, he has also been charged with intentional murder and theft committed in a group under aggravating circumstances.

The Telavi District Court is currently conducting a substantive examination of the criminal case against him.
