After 7 years, Archpriest Giorgi Mamaladze released from prison through Parole Commission

Archpriest Giorgi Mamaladze has been released from prison. As his brother, Tornike Mamaladze, said, Giorgi Mamaladze left prison and is staying with his family.

According to the lawyer of Archpriest, his release happened through the Parole Commission.

“I can confirm that it really happened. He was released through the Parole Commission. He was released from prison a few hours ago, so we don’t have official details, but I can confirm that he was released this evening. The archpriest had about 1 year and 9 months left to serve in prison”, - said Giorgi Phantsulaia.

Giorgi Mamaladze was arrested at Tbilisi airport on February 10, 2017. The courts of all 3 instances found him guilty of preparing the murder of Shorena Tetruashvili by using cyanide for revenge and sentenced him to 9 years in prison.
