In 2023, the income from international tourism exceeded the level of 2019 by 26.2% (USD 856.7 million), and the 2022 data by +17.3% (USD 608.7 million).
According to the National Tourism Administration [NTA], the country received a record-high USD 4.1 billion in income.
“Travel revenue in the fourth quarter of 2023 was USD 873,677,043. Compared to the same indicator of 2019, the increase is 27.4%.
Besides, there was a significant increase in the number of visits.
In 2023, 7,072,220 international travelers visited Georgia, which is a 75.6% recovery of the pre-pandemic data, and compared to 2022, the increase is +30.3%.
Last year, 4,669,467 international tourist visits took place in Georgia, which is a 91.9% recovery of the 2019 data, and compared to 2022, the increase is +27.8%.
In the period of October-December 2023, 1,505,240 international travelers visited Georgia, which is a 71% recovery of the data of the period before the pandemic.
In the IV quarter of 2023, 1,013,891 international tourist visits took place, which is a 93% recovery of the data of 2019”, - reads the press release of NTA.
