Georgian Finance Minister, Asian Development Bank official review work for Tbilisi annual meeting

Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Finance of Georgia met Asel Djusupbekova, Secretary of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on January 25, 2024. The meeting was attended by Eka Guntsadze, Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia; David Garrigos, Advisor at the Office of the Corporate Secretary, Asel Djusupbekova, the Secretary, Asian Development Bank (ADB); Rachel Obfenda, Officer of the ADB Secretariat.

The parties discussed the arrangements for the Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank.

As it known, Georgia will host the 57th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank for the 1st time ever on May 2-5. It will be attended by about 4000 participants and guests, including the President of the Asian Development Bank, Vice-Presidents, Executive Directors of the Bank, delegations from 68 member countries, representatives of international financial institutions, private sector, international and civil society, international and local media.

As the Minister of Finance of Georgia noted, it is important for Georgia to host an event of this scale, resulting in the growth of investment inflows to the country, economic opportunities and tourism potential.

On the other hand, the Head of ADB Secretariat expressed hope that holding the Annual Meeting of the Bank in Georgia will give a new impetus to the cooperation between the member countries of the Bank.
