Chairman of the CEC meets with the leaders of the political parties

If there are ideas that can be discussed in the remaining period before the election within the framework of our mandate, the election administration is open - we have seen a lot of myths and misinformation, however, the public has seen that technology does not have a problem, said the Chairman of the Central Election Commission before the meeting with the leaders of political parties.

“As of today, the election administration and the technologies used in the country meet the good standard of the Venice Commission and the Council of Europe, which states that before a large-scale technological intervention in the country, its use should be implemented in several stages.

From 2018 until today, 8 small and large-scale pilots were conducted, which gave us the opportunity to insure all risks and threats. Today’s agenda is built on informing the leaders of political parties about election technologies, however, if there are any questions that are within the competence of the election administration, we will provide our vision in detail.

Besides, if there are ideas or issues that can be discussed in the remaining period before the elections, within the framework of our mandate and joint efforts, the election administration is open and only welcomes such ideas and initiatives. We saw a number of myths, misinformation and lies that were spread in relation to technology, after 8 pilots the public saw that these technologies have no flaws and insure significant problems that existed during the election process, especially on the day of voting”, - said Giorgi Kalandarishvili.
