Prime Minister of Georgia holds face-to-face meetings within the framework of the forum in Davos

Georgian Prime Minister met with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). At the meeting, held within the scope of the World Economic Forum in Davos, the key directions of the successful cooperation between Georgia and the EBRD were discussed, along with projects implemented with support from the EBRD in the public and private sectors alike.

Irakli Garibashvili thanked Odile Renaud-Basso for support and pointed out that the assistance of the EBRD in terms of financing strategic directions allows for carrying our important reforms.

Focus was made on the historic decision to grant the EU membership candidate status to Georgia. The Prime Minister spoke about Georgia’s success and future plans on the path to European integration.

Irakli Garibashvili briefed the EBRD President on the positive trends in Georgia’s economy and emphasized that, despite the difficult situation in the region and worldwide, Georgia maintains steady economic growth rates, and that the Government"s effective policy has brought about a double-digit economic growth in the country in the course of the past two years.

Attention was also paid to large infrastructural projects actively pursued by the Government"s economic team.

At the meeting, Irakli Garibashvili and Odile Renaud-Basso discussed new directions of cooperation and set prospects for future collaboration.

The Head of Government noted that the EBRD has a diversified portfolio in Georgia which makes up about 5 billion euros in 289 projects. Irakli Garibashvili thanked Odile Renaud-Basso for productive cooperation.
