The Head of the Special Investigation Service, Koka Katsitadze held the introductory meeting with Petr Kubernat, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Georgia.
The Head of the Special Investigation Service introduced the mandate and main directions of the Service to the diplomat. Koka Katsitadze emphasized the work done by the Special Investigation Service together with the Parliament of Georgia to fulfill the 12-point recommendations of the European Commission, in terms of strengthening and ensuring independence. The independent body is actively involved in all processes aimed at the functional and institutional strengthening of the service.
Within the framework of the meeting, the joint participation of the Special Investigation Service of Georgia and the General Inspectorate of Security Force of the Czech Republic in international networks of independent investigation bodies was noted. Possibilities of strengthening future cooperation between the counterpart organizations were discussed.
Koka Katsitadze thanked the Ambassador for the fruitful discussion and readiness for future cooperation along with the best wishes for his honorable mission.
Sophio Chareli, Head of the Administration of the Special Investigation Service, and Natia Pirashvili, the Head of the International Relations and Strategic Development Department, attended the meeting.
