Even if we have to work ourselves, I, my deputies, our employees, the works on Tsereteli Avenue must be completed and traffic must be restored by the end of January. Such a statement made today the Mayor of Tbilisi.

“Rehabilitation works of Tsereteli Avenue are one of the most important projects for me. We started the mentioned works at the end of April and we promised the population that by the end of January, road traffic would be restored in both directions.

The works are very large-scale. We are building a new road, we want to make fundamental changes in all the projects we enter in the direction of road infrastructure.

We started to update the underground communications, which is very important. As long as the mentioned avenue exists, works of this scale have not really been carried out.

However, there were some problems in the process, this is not new because companies very often fail to fulfill their obligations, which are written in the contract, and we had such a fact this time as well. We had to say goodbye to the 2 companies that worked on the mentioned project.

It is fundamentally important for us that the traffic is restored by the end of January. Despite the fact that these companies approached us several times regarding the postponement of the deadline, we made this decision, however, I would like to emphasize that the false media should not mislead the public, when we talk about the postponement of the deadline, we are not talking about the postponement of the deadline.

January was always valid, we are talking about the internal terms of the work process”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
