On January 3-5, rain is expected in Georgia (mainly in the western part of the country), heavy snow, blizzard, fog, slush and avalanche danger are expected in mountainous and high-mountainous regions.
According to the National Environment Agency, because of the heavy snowfall, poor visibility, blizzard, ice and avalanche danger on certain sections of highways, traffic may be restricted.
The expected rainfall on the rivers of Western Georgia may cause a significant increase in the water levels, and in the hilly areas, landslides and mudslides may be triggered and activated. A 3-4 scale storm is in forecast at the Black Sea shore.
