Prime Minister of Georgia holds a farewell meeting with Ambassador of Italy

Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia held a farewell meeting with H.E. Enrico Valvo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Georgia today.

Meeting was focused on the close cooperation and friendly relations existing between the two countries, which are manifested in the establishment of a High-Level Political Dialogue as a format of interaction. It was highlighted at the meeting that great potential of development is sensed in the further advancement of current links in certain areas.

Support demonstrated by Italy was noted in the accession of Georgia to the European and Euro-Atlantic structures and a historic decision on granting the status of an EU Candidate Country to Georgia was duly stressed at the meeting as well. Enrico Valvo reassured the Prime Minister of Georgia in the firm support of Italy towards the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.

The Head of Government of Georgia expressed his gratitude to the Italian diplomat for the contribution made in the advancement of cooperation between the two countries during his diplomatic mission in Georgia and wished him every success in future endeavors.
