The Special Investigation Service arrested the Security Police Inspector of the Ministry of Internal Affairs according to the court’s decision in Akhaltsikhe. As a result of the investigation, the law enforcement officer was exposed to three violent episodes committed in November of this year.

The investigation established that on November 17, 2023, Security Police Inspector H.S. physically assaulted the citizen M.M. during a mutual conflict on Kostava Street in Akhaltsikhe.

On November 19, 2023, a law enforcement officer physically assaulted the victim’s son and his friend during a mutual conflict near his residence in Akhaltsikhe Municipality.

On November 27, 2023, the Security Police Inspector met the victim M.M. in Akhaltsikhe again and repeatedly beat him, hit him several times in the face and held both hands tightly in his throat.

Based on the complaint of the victim citizen, the Special Investigation Service requested the video camera recordings and appointed a forensic medical examination; according to the results of the examinations, one of the victims had bruises and wounds on his body. Also, other obtained evidence exposed the crime of the law enforcement officer and the inspector was arrested on charges of violence.

The crime shall be punished by imprisonment for a term of up to two years. The Special Investigation Service continues the case investigation.
