The Tbilisi City Court fully accepted the evidence presented by the Prosecutor"s Office and found the foreign citizen guilty of the fact of legalizing illegal income.

The evidence examined during the trial proved that a person convicted of a financial crime in the past, in the absence of an official source of income, in order to give a legal face to the funds of undocumented origin in his possession, purchased three expensive real estates in 2020-2021, in which way he legalized a particularly large amount of funds.

The court found the foreign citizen guilty of the fact of legalization of undocumented income, which was accompanied by the receipt of a particularly large amount of income, and sentenced him to 10 years in prison as a form and measure of the punishment.

According to the court’s decision, the real estate purchased with funds of undocumented origin two luxury residential apartments in Batumi and a land plot in Krtsanisi- was confiscated free of charge from the convicted person in favor of the state.
