We know what the war with Russia means, but despite the challenges, Georgia is fully in solidarity with Ukraine. Such a statement the Speaker of the Parliament made during his visit to Brussels.
“We still have these challenges today, and unlike other countries, especially NATO member countries, we stand in solidarity with Ukraine without being protected by either NATO’s nuclear umbrella or the EU"s economic solidarity umbrella.
At the same time, Russia occupies two of our regions. Despite these challenges, we are in full solidarity with Ukraine in this environment, and therefore it is important for them to look at the steps taken by Georgia in this light, to see that we are responsible to our citizens, so that the security environment does not deteriorate and we do not risk a military confrontation with Russia”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
