Minister of Health of Georgia has visited newly opened Rukhi Republican Hospital in Zugdidi Municipality. Zurab Azarashvili got acquainted with current situation in the clinic and together with the physicians summarized operational results and discussed future plans.

Rukhi Multi-Profile University Hospital was opened on September 15. Units of neurosurgery, general surgery, maxillofacial surgery, traumatology, urology, thoracic surgery, cardiology and other units became functional in the clinic. The facility was tooled up with modern medical equipment and staffed with qualified local and invited form different cities specialists.

The clinic was one of the first that met renewed resuscitation and surgery standards. Within two months, the clinic has already provided medical services to more than 2,000 patients.

It should be noted that due to strategic location of the clinic, the medical services are utilized by both local residents and citizens entering from occupied territories

At this stage, the clinic is designated for 140 beds. The patients are provided by both inpatient and outpatient services. 24-hour Emergency Medicine unit is functional. Currently, Rukhi multi-profile hospital is the only medical facility in the region offering endoprosthetic surgery and other neurosurgery of various complexity, as well as thoracic surgery through thoracoscopy.
