WHO and Latvia National Agency experts assess implementation status of DRG reform after 1 year of its implementation. According to them, the country achieved significant progress and success over one year of its introduction.

As noted by the senior expert of Latvia National Health Agency, Georgia has done more in some fields during one year of implementation of the reform, than Latvia did during ten years. According to WHO expert, there are many achievements during last year of implementation, the country should be proud of.

DRG funding model of medical facilities was introduced in Georgia in November, 2022. After one year from launching the reform, patients’ copayment for medical services has significantly, three times decreased, from 27% to 10%.
