I call on the international partners to assess this fact in time and increase pressure on Russia in order to end the occupation, writes the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, while responding to the fact of killing of a Georgian citizen and the illegal detention of another citizen by the Russian occupation forces near the village of Kirbali.

This tragedy proves once again that the occupation leaves heavy consequences every day and carries risks for people living near the occupation line and for the state as a whole.

The Government of Georgia is taking all measures to release another illegally detained citizen and to punish the culprit.
