I understood Mikheil Saakashvili’s statement as an appeal to Nika Melia - when criticism of one’s own party becomes the main political agenda, in this case it is better for this politician to find an alternative springboard for his own political activity. Such a statement made today, Tina Bokuchava, United National Movement, while commenting on the current processes in the UNM and Saakashvili’s statement on this issue.

“Internal party criticism is a part of a healthy democracy, however, when criticism of one’s own party becomes the main political agenda, in this case it is better for that politician to find an alternative springboard for his political activity. If Melia was not meant in the first statement, we will probably hear additional explanations.

Everyone, including me, understood the statement made by the President as addressed to Melia.

The main thing for me is the position of Mikheil Saakashvili. He is the founding chairman of the UNM, he is the main center of electoral attraction, therefore it is important for me and the voters to clearly know Saakashvili’s position on the current processes, especially when we are entering the decisive elections that will decide the fate of the country. If something else was implied, I am sure we will hear additional statements from Saakashvili”, - said Tina Bokuchava.
