Half a billion GEL will be allocated to the Ministry of Education in 2024, of which 160 million GEL will be used to increase teachers’ salaries, said the Prime Minister of Georgia at the national teacher award ceremony of awarding.

“I know very well what a hard work you, the teachers, do every day, taking care of the education of our children, our future generations, their upbringing, which, of course, creates a solid foundation for the development and progress of our country.

I am sure that we all have our favorite teachers, that is, those people who had a great impact on our consciousness, worldview, thinking, who taught us everything, what cannot be taught by books.

I believe that we, the Government, should do more to raise the prestige of your profession. Our Minister and our entire Government are working on this purpose. Now we started to work even more intensively. We will continue to take care to improve the conditions for teachers and I want to inform you that according to our decision, half a billion GEL will be allocated to the Ministry of Education in 2024, of which GEL 160 million will be used for the increase of teachers’ salaries. Mr. Minister is actively working in this direction and will present a specific vision to you very soon”, - said Irakli Garibashvili.
