Responsibility for administrative violations for exceeding the permissible norms of acoustic noise to be tightened

The Parliament endorsed in I reading and with 84 votes the amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, which proposes an increase in fines for exceeding permissible noise levels in residential houses, privately owned real estate, or public institution buildings at any time.

According to the statement of Maia Bitadze, the Chairperson of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, it is planned to tighten the responsibility for administrative violations for exceeding the permissible norms of acoustic noise in residential houses, privately owned real estate or public institutions during the day and night hours.

According to the proposed amendment, for the first offense, the fine will be 150 GEL for individuals and 1500 GEL for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs. In case of a repeated offense, the fine will be 500 GEL for individuals and 5000 GEL for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs. For the third and subsequent offenses, the fine will be set at 1000 GEL for individuals and 10,000 GEL for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs.
