Immunization against seasonal flu will begin across Georgia from today, October 16.
The Ministry of Health purchased 200,000 Abbott Biologicals B.V. production 4-component vaccines, approved by the World Health Organization. According to the agency, the high-risk patients and elderly people will receive the jabs free of charge at Immunization Centres.
Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia called on citizens to get a flu shot as rhinovirus, enterovirus, and Coronavirus are circulating, whereas so far, only individual cases of the flu have been reported: “Vaccination is crucial for pregnant women. They will be vaccinated at the first stage. The vaccine is free and the state program fully covers it”.
