The Committee heard the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Georgia, Hadas Ester Meitzad.
The MPs observed a moment of silence in honor of the civilians who died amid the recent tragic events in Israel.
“Unfortunately, just a few days ago, we witnessed a barbaric attack in Israel. This terrorist attack has tragically claimed the lives of approximately 1,300 civilians, according to the latest reports. We would like to request a moment of silence to honor the memory of these victims”, - said Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee.
“My beloved homeland, Israel, is facing incredibly challenging days. We have tragically lost over 1,300 of our fellow citizens to the violence perpetrated by Hamas terrorists. Hamas is an extremist organization with uncontrolled factions driven by hatred. Their goal is to harm our citizens and destroy the state of Israel.
This attack carried out by "Hamas" is directed against everything that Israel, Georgia, America, and the rest of the civilized world believe in.
We are confident in our victory in this war. Numerous countries have demonstrated their steadfast support for the Jewish people and the state of Israel. In cities like Tbilisi and Batumi, we have witnessed many buildings illuminated with the colors of the Israeli flag. We deeply appreciate Georgia’s solidarity with our nation. We have heard your government’s official statements and its support for our people. As we mourn the loss of lives, our prayers are with the safety and well-being of all our citizens, especially the women and children”, - added the Ambassador.
