More than half a million people have overcome poverty in Georgia in the last 10 years - Garibashvili

More than half a million people have overcome poverty in Georgia in the last 10 years. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia in his speech at the presentation of the new vision for the development of professional education.

“If we recall 2012, then the poverty rate was about 30%, unemployment was more than 27%. Today, there is an unemployment rate of 17% and poverty is below 15%. More than half a million people have overcome poverty in Georgia in the last 10 years.

Therefore, to respond to this challenge with effective actions and steps, based on these needs and this challenge, we have developed an interesting concept, I would like to repeat it again.

Of course, coordination and coordinated work with business will be crucial in this process. In practice, if we properly plan all these professions and these programs, we can say that there will be 100% guaranteed employment for all those people who will enter the vocational college, of course, will graduate, study and acquire the necessary skills”, - said Irakli Garibashvili.
